Watch the full tutorial on YouTubeC5's rewrite of the guardian farm, built for rate rather than for an easy build. There are no nether portals in it, so it keeps working on servers where portal designs fall over, and the killing is done by you: you stand in lava in Fire Protection IV armour, and the constant lava damage keeps you in invulnerability frames so the guardians' thorns and even starvation cannot touch you. Rafts do the looting, which is why it needs 1.20.2 or newer. It expects a boosted beacon and an attack every 0.55 seconds, so it is a technical build, not an AFK one. The video explains the mechanics instead of placing blocks, so the schematic and the notes are the instructions.
The lava is the whole trick. You take constant lava damage in Fire Protection IV and that keeps you immune to everything else, and only one piece of armour needs the enchantment for the protection cap.
No nether portals is the reason people pick this over Ianxofour's design. That one is faster to build, this one survives server setups where portals do not behave.
Gameslinx warns it goes unstable when chunks load or unload while it is running, so switch the farm off before you log out.
thomasbaggesen3741 could not find a clean way to switch it off at all. Some slime blocks get pushed and some do not, and the notes do not cover it.
Reports on the newest versions contradict each other. fakerkiwi has it working on 1.21.11 and lruqmc on a 1.21.10 paper server, while Riinkz and prinz12344 both have pistons losing function on those same versions.
VeryTallMidget83 got it running on Bedrock by swapping the kill chamber for a trident killer and using the redstone variant that does not rely on quasi connectivity.
Save this farm to a collection to tick materials off as you gather them.
What you get for the effort.
