Watch the full tutorial on YouTubeFortun8diamond's wither skeleton farm, built inside the fortress bounding box with no spawnproofing and no wither roses. Striders fill the soul sand valley so nothing but wither skeletons can spawn on the platforms, the skeletons walk into portals, and iron golems kill them on the other side while you AFK above the bedrock roof. The build is long but plain, most of it is nether brick collected from the fortress you are standing in. There is an alternate design using piglins that also runs in a warped forest, though the creator does not recommend it because endermen keep placing nylium on the spawning platform. Java only, and single player gets better rates than a server.
Keep a mob switch running the whole time you build. Without one the wither skeletons kill you and blazes kill the iron golems, which the creator says is the single most common way this goes wrong.
Regular skeletons spawning means one of three things: not enough striders, a paper server, or the farm sitting too close to another biome. Treelog-m5x fixed his by breeding up to about 60 striders.
The video's item list leaves out the iron golems and the beacon. The creator admits it in his pinned comment and put them in the description instead.
Armor stands misbehaving is also a paper server problem, not a build mistake.
TheTMog needed 5 water buckets rather than the 3 on the list to finish the overworld side.
iselfdestrukt7338 skips the chunk loader by brewing invisibility potions and wearing no armour, but the creator's own answer is to build the mob switch instead.
Save this farm to a collection to tick materials off as you gather them.
What you get for the effort.
