Watch the full tutorial on YouTubeA gold farm on the nether roof with no redstone in it beyond hoppers and chests. Ten magma block platforms give zombified piglins somewhere to spawn, turtle eggs pull them to the middle of each platform, and they fall 24 blocks down glass tubes onto hoppers, which kills them and collects the drops at the same time. It makes around 1600 gold ingots an hour and takes about two hours to build. Java only, it has to sit on the nether roof.
mobGriefing has to be on or the piglins ignore the turtle eggs completely. This is the single most common reason the farm does nothing. Run /gamerule mobGriefing true.
Every turtle egg needs two blocks of air above it. Stacked or capped eggs attract nothing.
The whole farm has to sit over a nether wastes biome. Check with F3 and G before you place 4920 magma blocks, several people finished the build over the wrong biome.
AFK at about y220 rather than y255. At the very top some piglins despawn before they reach the hoppers.
Since 26.1 some zombified piglins spawn as leaders with 50 hearts and survive the drop. Put soul sand on the hoppers with wither roses on it. Magma does nothing, they are immune to fire.
Place the trapdoors on the magma platforms last, otherwise the piglins break your eggs while you are still building. The egg step is also where people die, bring a totem.
Save this farm to a collection to tick materials off as you gather them.
