Watch the full tutorial on YouTubeA two dimension gold farm for a dug out perimeter, and the fastest single player design there is. Zombified piglins spawn on a huge portal platform in the nether and die on the overworld side to ghast fireballs, while you hold a looting 3 sword because the kill credit is what makes looting apply. Drops are crafted into blocks on the way to storage. There are two builds, v3a at 6180 gold blocks an hour and v3b at 14300. It gives no XP, it is single player only, and the nether side wants a 17x17 chunk perimeter cleared.
The creator pinned this: a ghast fireball physics change broke the farm in 1.21.11 and a fix is being worked on. On roughly 1.21.6 and up ender pearls behave strangely with the tripwire and break the safety mechanism, so remove the safety mechanism to get it running.
Line yourself up exactly before you leave the minecart, look straight down and double sneak. Get it wrong and fireballs go into the wrong portal, explode on the overworld side and wreck the build. One builder found the horizontal angle of -179.5 matters as much as looking down.
Clear away any beacons before you light the portals. They break the portal linking.
Prefill the hoppers above the minecarts with gold nuggets so the carts become filtered, otherwise rotten flesh and swords reach the autocrafters.
Placed ghasts face random directions at first. They all snap south after one cycle, so do not try to aim them.
It does not work on Paper. For multiplayer you need a second player AFK in the overworld, and the creator says to build a TNT looting chamber instead in that case, since it breaks less easily.
Save this farm to a collection to tick materials off as you gather them.
