Watch the full tutorial on YouTubeA hoglin farm on the nether roof, above a crimson forest. Hoglins spawn on flat platforms and get pushed off by warped fungus, which they will not go near, so they walk themselves into the lava below and the meat comes out cooked. There is no redstone in it at all, it runs on spawning and mob behaviour. Layers stack straight upward and one layer already fills chests faster than most players can use the food. You AFK at the build limit or a couple of hundred blocks away so the platforms sit in the spawning range.
It has to be a crimson forest. Hoglins spawn nowhere else, and the wrong biome is behind nearly every report of nothing spawning.
If it is still empty, move your AFK spot. Build up to the build limit at 255 or go 200 to 250 blocks out, that fixed it for several builders.
Set your render distance to 8 chunks, you get noticeably more hoglins.
Piglins and zombified piglins on the platform mean it is too dark. Put extra torches where they appear.
One layer is enough for a single player world and gives stacks in minutes. Past about 7 layers the rate starts falling off instead of climbing.
Warped fungus only, crimson fungus does not scare hoglins. A soul campfire kills faster than lava but does not cook the meat.
Save this farm to a collection to tick materials off as you gather them.
